The Controversy Behind the
Fila Brasileiro
The history and origin of the Fila is a strongly
debated topic. Unfortunately that’s what happens
when the truth takes a backseat to the special
interests of a particular group. Spearheaded by
Mr Paulo Santos Cruz, this small group of dissidents
called "CAFIB" has been exposed multiple times,
most recently by a very prominent authority in the
Fila world, The President of The Sociedade Paulista
do Fila Brasileiro Mr Virgílio De Martella Orsi of
São Paulo, Brazil.
You can read his new article called
"The Natural Selection" in which he discusses and
recalls his first-hand knowledge and experience of
the history that he was personally involved in. You
can rest assured that what you'll read here is nothing
but the truth. I've been given the privilege by the
man himself to translate and publish his work in
order to help spread this information in the United
States. In order to help the American people
understand that to the real authorities in the Fila
world, CAFIB is practically non-existent.

Cafib Controversy:
Fila Friends, I've been saying this several times in
many Fila communities and forums for many years.
But these "Cafib Followers" cannot stop posting
unfounded statements and lies. Specifically, but not
limited to the authenticity of the Black Fila
Brasileiro. This is a link to the true history of the
Black Fila, with facts and literature. The latest
statement from these people was so outrageous that
I felt the need to publicly clarify. There is only ONE
official entity, and it's called CBKC (Confederación
Brasilera de Cinofilia) or (The Brazilian Canine
Confederation). They are the only ones that are
officially recognized to have established the Breed
Standard of the Fila Brasileiro. These "Cafib
People" are claiming that the original or old standard
does not recognize the Black Fila. Please do not let
these people confuse you. There is only ONE
Standard, and again it was created by the CBKC
and it definitely accepts the Black Fila as far as
color goes. Please do your research and get the facts
from reputable sources. These Cafib people were
EXPELLED from the CBKC, and since then in the
1970's have been seen as nothing more than
dissidents. This group is motivated by their own
financial interests.

completely aced it with
flying colors and we'll be

soon as we receive it.

in their own respective
shows.

reflect upon the F.B.A.
itself. We are extremely
proud to be involved
with the FBA and the
work that they have
done for our breed.

some of my concerns and

Our good friend and dog-trainer Sal took some seriously awesome
pictures of the male he got from us, Deisel. This set of pictures
does well to catalogue his growth and how fast he is progressing.
We've been keeping a very close eye on this big dog and he's truly
shaping up to be something incredible. Weighing in at 145 and
measuring up at 30 (THIRTY!) inches to the shoulder at only 11
months old! Sired by Sharkaun and Coco, you can bet we expect
great things from this big boy.
